Pastor Edson H, Joseph graduated from Oakwood University in 1984 with a double major in theology and communications. He also completed a minor in Biblical languages. From there he matriculated at Andrews University, graduating in 1986 with a Masters of Divinity Degree.
Pastor Joseph served at Christian Record Braille Foundation as District Representative for Southeast Missouri during 1987. In 1988 he was privileged to work under the mentorship of Dr. Harold Lee at the Dupont Park Seventh-day Adventist Church in Washington, DC. His most recent assignment was director of evangelism and church growth for Alaska Conference. Prior to that, he led the development of the Anchorage Community Seventh-day Adventist Church from its official organization, 1988 to February 2012. While at the Community Church, Pastor Joseph led the Parish in capital development projects that have now grown to a net value of over $2 million in solid assets.
In Alaska, Pastor Joseph and his family were greatly blessed to have been able to lead several cross cultural churches including Wasilla Eagle River and Soldotna congregations. One of his greatest delights was serving the Bethel Church which was predominantly native Alaskan.
Among other vital aspects of ministry, Pastor Joseph specializes in empowering the Church to save the lost at any cost, and teaching the saved to serve. He and his wife Cherylyn enjoy working in a multicultural environment, for such is the Kingdom of Heaven. So also is the Fondren SDA Church, “Where the Son, S-O-N always shines.”
